Scrapes

I nearly crashed my car today. Well okay...crash sounds abit dramatic.

But it was dramatic, believe me. I was being dramatic when it happened.

I went into my second multi storey car park this afternoon - to take my brother to town in order for him to unlock his new blackberry.

And going in wasn't too bad, despite the fact it was awfully tight and my steering was abit crazy.

But coming out was a nightmare...i was coming so close to the edges of the ramps i was making myself panic...and then on the last one i hit my side of the car whilst going down the ramp...right at the start.

It made a god awful loud sound. I cringed.

Then i got really upset...imagining i'd caved in the side of my car and all sorts.

Which totally put me off my driving...and i was supposed to be going somewhere i'd never driven before too so i need to be paying extra attention!!

But when we arrived where we were headed (which was to collect a bike frame for my car from a friend who was selling it for cheap - must fulfill the promise of lots of bike rides this summer to my brother) and i got out to check my car...i was so so relieved.

I'd scuffed the very underside of the plasticy bumper bit...and scratched my rim abit but other than that the car was fine.

Jeesh. And there was me imagining all these people staring at the invisible damage on my car - wondering what kind of nut job driver i am. And it was hardly there at all!

I said sorry to Effie. I felt so bad for not paying more attention. And for letting it upset me so.

It's bound to happen some times. I'm a new driver. Old drivers still do stupid things and i'm far more likely to in my first few weeks of driving to have some scuffs and bangs. Well hopefully not bangs.

Well i've forgiven myself now...and i'm just going to have to take more care.

I scrubbed Effie clean when i got home and then after letting her dry out abit, went and polished her dry myself. I even wiped the insides of all the windows and the dash etc down while Roxy gambled about in the back.

I'm gunna take care of Effie as best i can cause Effie takes care of me.

All in all i had a pretty productive and fairly relaxing day off i think. Ha.
